Review of Fas anti-cockroach products: instructions for use, safety precautions during operation, consumer reviews

Composition of FAS products against cockroaches, method of influencing the pest

The manufacturer uses two main components as the active ingredient.

Zeta Cypermethrin

In the amount of 1%. A repellent with a complex composition of the third generation, effective against many flying and crawling pests and farts. The destructive effect is aimed at adult individuals, but does not affect eggs covered with a dense shell.

Refers to poisons of contact and intestinal action, the action of which begins after it enters the body of an insect or enters the body when eating bait.

It has the maximum effect on the body in the first 24 hours after spraying the room, and has a high residual effect throughout the month.

Thiamethoxam

At a concentration of 4%. A contact-acting drug that has a neuroparalytic effect on the insect body. Belongs to the group of neonicotinoids and is not addictive.

When ingested by an insect, it blocks the passage of nerve impulses, causing slowness, lack of coordination, paralysis and death.

The combination of two highly toxic agents allows you to destroy insects that have developed insensitivity to various poisons. The high concentration of active agents allows you to destroy the insect population quickly and effectively, but requires professional skills to use.

What is Double Fas and Super Fas from bedbugs?

Dry powders Fas are double action insecticides. They contain a pair of chemicals that act differently on different types of insects, thereby increasing the effectiveness of the product as a whole and prolonging its residual effect after treatment.

It is worth emphasizing right away that Fas also has an acaricidal effect, that is, it can also be used against arachnid representatives of a huge family of arthropod pests, for example, ticks and spiders.

Another positive quality of the product is the possibility of its use not only against household parasites, but against plant pests, which are a common problem for gardeners and gardeners - aphids, Colorado potato beetles, caterpillars, whiteflies and others.

It is the dual composition of this seemingly modest product that provides it with such an integrated approach in the fight against arthropod parasites and pests. Among other things, the price of a bag of powder is notable for its low cost.

Release forms

The product line under the FAS brand includes;

  • powders for diluting or sprinkling surfaces;
  • tablets for preparing solutions;
  • gels.

Powder forms are used to prepare solutions of the required concentration; the dilution proportion is contained in the instructions for the drug.

Pills

A form intended for the preparation of solutions that allow the destruction of insects in children's and medical institutions. The shape makes it easy to prepare solutions.

Fas anti-cockroach tablets are commercially available and can be used for self-disinfestation of premises.

Powder

The product is available in two types:

  • Super;
  • Double.

The high concentration of poison in powders makes them highly effective, but dangerous for humans and pets. Can be used for preparing solutions or used in its original form for sprinkling.

Gel

The gel form is the least toxic to humans. The poisonous substance is in bound form. Affects insects by contact. Can be used in both residential and public spaces.

Gel Fas against cockroaches can be applied to a paper backing and spread around the perimeter of the room. This will make it easier to remove the poison after use.

Rules of application

Before using Fas, be sure to read the manufacturer's recommendations. They are described in detail on each pack of insecticide or in the attached annotation.

Instructions for use of anti-bedbugs in the form of powders:

  1. Grab the corners by the top corners and shake them so that the contents fall to one side.
  2. Puncture the bag in the places indicated on the package.
  3. Turn the bag over and, shaking gently, sprinkle the product on the bedbug habitat.

Treating the premises with Fas How to poison an insect using soluble compounds:

  1. Pour powder into a container with a spray bottle or put FAS tablet against bedbugs.
  2. Fill with warm water.
  3. Shake vigorously until the product dissolves.
  4. Spray the prepared insecticide on the surface of the furniture, under the baseboards, and on the back of the furniture.
  5. Use the prepared solution within 24 hours; after the specified time, the insecticide will lose most of its strength.

Important!

After 10-15 days, be sure to re-treat the room with Fas against bedbugs. During this time, new larvae will have time to hatch from the eggs, which also need to be gotten rid of.

Treat potential bedbug habitats with maximum precision. These can be baseboards, mattresses, upholstered furniture, interior items and others.

Super-Fas: professional treatment with poison

Pin
A product for the professional destruction of most insects that parasitize a person’s home: cockroaches, ants, bedbugs, spiders, wasps, moths, etc. It is also possible to use it in public institutions (hospitals, children's educational institutions, hotels, restaurants and cafes).

The product is dissolved in water; for ease of use, the powder is packaged in 10 gram bags.

For Fas poisons against cockroaches, use a 0.05% aqueous solution in warm water, focusing on an approximate consumption of 50 ml. per one square meter. If tiled surfaces are subject to treatment, the flow rate of the working fluid increases and the concentration is halved.

Professional exterminators use special spray equipment; personal protection of the employee is mandatory. General cleaning of the premises is carried out no earlier than 24 hours after the application of the FAS, but no later than 3 hours before the opening of the establishment.

Protective clothing for work should be as closed as possible and include:

  • closed overalls;
  • glasses;
  • respirator;
  • headdress;
  • gloves;
  • shoe covers.

The employee must be familiar with the instructions and safety rules when working with toxic substances of hazard class 2.

The room is processed according to the following scheme:

  • All people, animals, birds, and fish aquariums are removed from the premises;
  • carry out inspection and sorting of food products, pack them hermetically;
  • do the same with toys, clothes, textiles and other things;
  • if the population of cockroaches is large, adjacent rooms must be treated;
  • processing is carried out selectively, paying special attention to places where insects are most concentrated - kitchens, water supply and sewer risers, toilets, places where water heating devices are located, garbage chutes;
  • close windows and doors and leave the room for 3-4 hours;
  • the remaining solution, if there is no planned treatment, is disposed of;
  • the room is ventilated, general wet cleaning is carried out for up to 24 hours - surfaces with which people will come into contact are cleaned with a detergent solution. In all other places the drug remains to act on insects;
  • Since the poison does not affect cockroach eggs, re-treatment is necessary after 30 days.

The drug is sold through a network of special stores to private and public disinfection enterprises.

Reviews

Galina, Peter:

“We bought an apartment in an old building, the tenants were not very good, they left a lot of cockroaches. No matter what we did, it didn’t help. I had to hire professionals. The parasites disappeared immediately after treatment. And at the same time spiders, flies and bedbugs. This was the best decision."

Olga Krasnodar:

“We have problems every year at the dacha - we poison ants or cockroaches. This year we have Prussians who are incredibly nimble. We bought Super-Fas, diluted it according to the instructions, and sprayed it on. The downside is that it doesn’t ripple easily and you need protective clothing. We did one treatment, then a week later – another one. We’re happy, everything is clean in the kitchen.”

What is included in the composition and what is the difference between Double Fas and Super Fas

The main working substance of Fas is cypermethrin. It is a synthetic pyrethroid, characterized by low toxicity to humans and animals, but deadly to insects. Synthetic pyrethroids are man-made insecticides created to imitate the chemical properties of a natural substance of a similar class - pyrethrum, which is synthesized from chrysanthemum flowers. Synthetic pyrethroids, such as cypermethrin, have a longer residual effect than natural insecticides, so they are often included in many commercial formulations.

The substance has an active effect on the nervous system of insects, inhibiting it, which provokes a complete stop of all vital processes and, accordingly, the death of insects. Cypermethrin penetrates into the body of insects through the chitinous outer shell and the digestive tract - it has a contact-food effect.

“Fas Super just saved our house from bedbugs. The neighbors began to poison these evil spirits and we didn’t even have a choice - we bought the first product we came across in order to quickly poison only the bedbugs that had come running from the neighboring apartment. Maybe they didn’t have time to get a good divorce, but two treatments were enough to forget about such unpleasant living creatures in our bedroom.” Kirill

Thiamethoxam (Super Fas)

Thiamethoxam is a systemic insecticide in the neonicotinoid class. The substance has a wide spectrum of activity against many types of insects that parasitize plants. It is thanks to this substance that Fas dusts can be used to treat agricultural and garden crops in open spaces.

Neonicotinoids are a relatively new class of neuroactive insecticides that are chemically similar to nicotine. In 1980, Shell and in 1990, Bayer, began working to develop the neonicotinoid family, which later became the most widely used insecticide in the world. Compared to organophosphates, pyrethroids and carbamates, neonicotinoids cause less toxicity to birds and mammals than the above chemicals, but some breakdown products are still quite toxic.

In the late 1990s, neonicotinoids came under greater regulatory scrutiny due to their environmental impacts. These insecticides have been attributed to a number of adverse environmental consequences, including a specific disease of bees - collapse, as well as group extinctions of birds in a number of countries, which were recorded at different times, due to a decrease in insect populations. In 2013, the European Union and some non-EU countries restricted the use of certain neonicotinoids, including thiamethoxam. In Russia, the use of this product is not limited in any way.

Thiamethoxam is a broad-spectrum, systemic insecticide, which means that it is quickly absorbed by plants and transported to all parts of it, including pollen, where it has a toxic effect on arthropods. The insect can be absorbed during feeding or through direct contact, including through the tracheal system. The compound interferes with the transmission of information between nerve cells by interfering with their nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, which ultimately paralyzes the muscles of the insects and causes their death. In short, the toxic effect is similar to other families of insecticides.

Front double

The drug Duble (light gray or beige dust) is a form of FAS, adapted for disinfestation of residential premises.

It has a low concentration of poison, does not require special knowledge to work with it and can be carried out by any adult. Unlike Super, it does not dissolve in water, but is used as a powder against cockroaches.

The active ingredients are Zeta Cypermethrin and EU Fenvalerate. The combination of poisons gives the product a prolonged effect, providing protection for 90 days.

Before treatment, you should carefully read the instructions and purchase as many packets of powder as necessary to treat contaminated premises and adjacent rooms. Dust is consumed at the rate of up to 3 grams per square meter.

Processing is carried out according to the following scheme:

  • clear the room of unnecessary things;
  • seal cracks in walls, sewer and water pipes;
  • re-glue torn wallpaper;
  • eliminate leaks in plumbing fixtures;
  • clean and seal all food in the kitchen and pantries;
  • wipe dry all puddles of water in the apartment;
  • clean the room and furniture from crumbs and spilled cereals and food;
  • remove people and pets from the premises;
  • use personal protective equipment - gloves, mask or respirator;
  • pierce the designated areas on the packaging and pour the powder along the baseboards, in places where insects are most concentrated, along the paths along which they move. If necessary, use a paper or cardboard backing;
  • after a few hours, the drug is washed off with a detergent solution or warm water with soap and soda;
  • After finishing work, wash your hair, face and hands thoroughly with warm water and soap.

Some buyers who have tried the product recommend using the powder as part of the bait, mixing it with mashed potatoes, boiled yolk, and a few drops of vegetable oil. Balls or cakes made from the mass are laid out in places where insects are most concentrated.

Reviews

Olesya, Orsk:

“The neighbors started making repairs, and all their “tenants” rushed to us through the cracks and ventilation. We were not prepared for such an invasion, and the cockroaches quickly took over the territory.

The supermarket recommended FAS, calculated the size of the apartment and bought several packages. We did everything as written in the instructions, but the second treatment was carried out three days later, not a week later. There are no cockroaches yet.”

Anna, Voronezh:

“Cockroaches settled in the dacha, a friend brought FAS powder. We punched holes according to the instructions and sprinkled them everywhere we could. Not only the cockroaches disappeared, but also the wood lice.”

How to prepare and use the solution?

In order to prepare a super-pack cockroach remedy, you will need to carefully study the instructions that accompany each purchased drug. The recipe for the liquid composition is indicated on the back of the package. Apart from powder or tablets and water, which, as mentioned above, should be at room temperature, you will not need anything else. You will need to use one part super face bedbug repellent to twenty parts water. After the powder or tablet is placed in water, you will need to stir the liquid until the substance is completely dissolved.

After preparing the solution, you need to pour it into a spray bottle. It is recommended to prepare exactly the amount of solution that you plan to use. The amount of poison solution required for cockroaches is determined by the degree of infestation of your home by insects, as well as the size of the premises that need to be treated. Typically, about one hundred milliliters of solution is required per square meter. And remember: the finished composition will not be stored for a long time - it must be used within an hour after mixing.

Before you start treating rooms and using insect repellent, you will need to take all necessary precautions. Because you are using toxic substances, you will need to wear long sleeves and long pants or a protective suit. Hands should be protected with gloves, and the face and respiratory organs with a protective mask or respirator. It is also recommended to wear glasses to avoid getting the flea treatment in your eyes.

Treatment with such a product as the anti-cockroach drug fas is carried out according to the following algorithm:

  • You will need to prepare the kitchen furniture in advance. Remove food, utensils and kitchen utensils used for cooking. If there is such an opportunity, it is better to remove all interior items from the walls so that the anti-cockroach powder powder can be used in the farthest corners.
  • In rooms where insect extermination is planned, it is recommended to clean immediately before starting to spray the substance.
  • Experts also advise removing furniture covers, curtains, carpets and other textile interior elements before using the anti-bedbug tablet. The fact is that the fabric absorbs various substances very well.
  • It is better to close the ventilation hole to prevent cockroaches from going to your neighbors.

Treat the room gradually, meter by meter. It is very important to deprive insects of sources of water, then they will drink the solution of flea powder.

Fas gel

The gel is considered the most convenient form of release of the product for home disinfestation, since it does not release toxins into the air and does not require the removal of people from the premises during treatment. The packaging form is a syringe or tube with a long spout.

The main advantages of gels include:

  • efficiency;
  • ease of use;
  • ease of application and cleaning of the gel;
  • minimal marks after use;
  • efficiency;
  • ability to stay on the back panels of household appliances.

Before application, prepare the room. The gel is applied with dashes or dotted lines in places where cockroaches accumulate or move. If necessary, apply a continuous line or apply gel to paper or plastic.

The product should not be applied to places with high humidity; if necessary, the gel is dripped onto a plastic backing or piece of polyethylene.

When working with the gel, be sure to wear gloves. If the syringe or tube is not completely used, put on a protective cap and hide it out of the reach of children.

The product can be freely purchased at retail in the household goods department of supermarkets or a specialty store.

Reviews

Nikolaev, Arkhangelsk

To get rid of small and whiskered pests, we used a variety of insecticidal preparations. But only with the help of fas poison against cockroaches did we manage to get rid of arthropod insects. Among all the products that the company supplies, we chose the gel. This choice is due to ease of use and effectiveness. In order to eliminate the small colony that lived in our kitchen, it took one syringe. We carried out repeated treatment for prevention, since our neighbors constantly have barbels.

Safety measures when processing the premises

Poison for cockroaches FAS belongs to the group of professional preparations of toxicity class 2 (in powders) and 3 in gels. Specially trained specialists are allowed to work with it. It is mandatory to wear protective clothing while processing the premises.

All food products and utensils must be packaged before processing. After finishing the treatment, the room is ventilated.

If you managed to purchase Super-Fas, you can dilute it yourself and treat the apartment. It is necessary to follow the instructions when preparing the solution and the rules of personal protection when treating the room. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in severe poisoning due to inhalation of toxic fumes.

How does Super Fas work on bedbugs?

Super Fas is a powdered product whose active ingredients are thiamethoxam and the pyrethroid zetacypermethrin, as well as fillers that help the product to completely dissolve in water. This insecticide destroys not only bedbugs, but also cockroaches, ants and other small insects that choose human homes as their habitat.

Super Fas has a poisonous effect on bedbugs, as a result of which the insect dies quite quickly. But, unfortunately, the solution has no effect on parasite eggs and therefore the treatment of the room will have to be repeated a second time. The insecticide is sold in the form of a water-soluble free-flowing powder or in tablet form. Before use, the product must be dissolved; in order for it to work, a 0.05% solution is sufficient.

The effectiveness of the drug depends on the concentration of the active substances. After purchase, super pack must be stored only unopened and it is recommended to open the package only before sanitizing the home. The opened product gradually loses its basic properties and therefore may no longer have an effect on bedbugs and other domestic insects. The shelf life of Super Fas is two years from the date of its release, provided that the packaging is sealed. Therefore, when purchasing, you should always look at the expiration date and check the integrity of the package.
