- First, take 8 ml of emulsion and dilute it in 1 glass of water, after which the solution is added with water to a volume of 1 liter. This volume should be enough to process 100 kg of potatoes for planting.
- The planting material is laid out in one layer on a flat surface, on which a plastic film is spread.
- The solution is poured into a spray bottle.
- The product is sprayed over the surface of the tubers, after which they are mixed and sprayed back until an even layer of product appears on them and there are no gaps left.
- The tubers must dry out before planting, and they must be planted on the same day, or better yet, as soon as they dry out, otherwise the product will lose its effectiveness.
Second method: treatment during planting
This method saves processing time, and there is no need to look for a place to process it. Unfortunately, this processing method is highly dependent on weather conditions: it is desirable that it be a dry, windless day. The steps are as follows:
- The product is diluted in a concentration of 4 ml per 10 liters of water, which corresponds to the concentration of spraying dug holes with potatoes over an area of 1 sq.m.
- To obtain a high-quality solution, the emulsion is first diluted in 1 liter of liquid, and then in 9 liters.
- When planting tubers are thrown into the holes, they are generously sprayed with a working solution at the rate of 30-35 ml for each hole.
- After this, the holes with potatoes are covered with earth. This method allows you to protect potato plantings for 60 days.

Precautionary measures
This drug is quite toxic, therefore, from the moment the solution is prepared until the end of processing and planting of the tubers, certain precautions must be observed:

Tabu is a relatively new insecticidal drug, so many vegetable growers do not dare to use it to combat wireworms and Colorado potato beetles in potato beds, preferring to use “Prestige” for these purposes.

The process of treating potatoes with the “Taboo” solution to eliminate the Colorado potato beetle on the shoots differs little from working with the well-known “Prestige” product, but the developers have added components to the composition that provide additional significant convenience. Method No. 1 - treatment before planting

To treat the Colorado potato beetle with Tabu, according to the instructions, you need to dilute it in water to obtain an active liquid for spraying potatoes selected for planting.
To do this, you need to mix 8 ml of the drug and a liter of water, first in a small volume of water, about a glass, shake, and only then add the rest of the water
This amount of solution is designed to wet 100 kg of tubers. Therefore, if more tubers are planted, then you need to make an appropriate calculation in order to maintain the dosage: divide the existing weight of the tubers by 100 to get the required volume of water, and then multiply by 8 to get the required amount of the drug. Before wetting the root crops, the solution poured into the sprayer is thoroughly shaken again
The tubers are laid out horizontally and evenly in a row on a tarpaulin or film covering, sprayed with the prepared solution, then carefully mixed by hand. Control over the degree of coverage of the solution will ensure that the treated area of the root crops turns red
Once the tubers are dry, they can be planted in the ground.
Important! Unlike the drug "Prestige", "Tabu" does not have fungicidal properties, that is, it is powerless to eliminate the harm from fungal infections. Therefore, simultaneous treatment with some fungicides is allowed at this stage.
Method No. 2 - treatment during disembarkation
One important quality that is superior to “Prestige” is the ability to spray potato tubers already planted in the hole at the time of planting. - In a prepared container, prepare a solution using 4 ml of Tabu per 10 liters of water, which is enough to spray dug holes or furrows along with the tubers placed in them over an area equal to 1 sq.m.
- First, the emulsion is diluted in a liter of water, shaken thoroughly, and then the remaining water is added, bringing it to the required amount.
- Accordingly, if 2 acres are planted under potatoes, then 8 ml of Tabu diluted in 20 liters of water will be used, if 1.5 acres - then 6 ml of the drug and 15 liters of water.
- That is, the area in acres allocated for potatoes must be multiplied by 4 to calculate the required amount of the drug, and then the number of acres allocated to 10 to find out the required volume of water.
- Then everything is simple: planting potato tubers are placed in a furrow or hole, sprayed with a solution, approximately 30 - 35 ml per tuber, and buried, neutralizing damage from beetles and wireworms for 60 days from the date of this type of treatment.
Important! With this method, there is no need to increase the concentration; it is quite enough to preserve the harvest! Otherwise, damage to the soil from toxins may increase!
