Expert opinion

Yulia Safronenko

A big fan of experiments and personal methods in gardening. The substance is often sold not as a separate pesticide, but as part of other products. Sometimes such “mixtures” are even more effective. Therefore, to find out whether fufanon is in a particular drug, it is better to familiarize yourself with its composition.

Fufanon is a colorless, odorless, oily liquid. The substance dissolves in water, but not completely, however, it dissolves well in organic high-molecular solvents (646, acetone). But most often the drug goes on sale in the form of a powder impregnated with an active pesticide (although it can be found in liquid form in ampoules or vials).

The active ingredient of fufanon is dimethyldithiophosphoric acid. Once in the body of insects, it is processed into malaoxon, which interferes with their metabolism and disrupts the functioning of the nervous system of the parasites. Subsequently, the pests die.

1- Spider mite 2- Weevil 3- Garden moth 4- Aphid. Fufanon will save you from all these pests

Action of Fufanon

Fufanon belongs to the class of organophosphorus compounds. The active component of the drug is malathion, which paralyzes pests, which within 1-2 hours lose the ability to move and eat and die within 24 hours. The drug is resistant, so it should be alternated with other insecticides.

Analogues of Fufanon to one degree or another are Karbofos, Atlant, Insecto-ESTA, Avidust and Pedilin.

  • How to properly dilute Apollo for maximum effect

Advantages of Fufanon over other drugs:

  • effective protection of a large number of crops, including agricultural ones;
  • effectiveness against a complex of gnawing and sucking pests, as well as against plant mites, including those resistant to pyrethroids;
  • exposure not only through direct contact with the organs of pests and through their digestive system, but also through the respiratory system;
  • active effect on adults and larvae;
  • high efficiency over a wide temperature range.

Purpose and general characteristics

The drug "Fufanon" is intended to protect many crops from numerous pests and to destroy synanthropic insects.

Let me remind you that synanthropes are those insects that are associated with human habitation and are practically never found in the wild. The drug "Fufanon Super" is intended for the destruction of cockroaches, house flies, red house ants, bed bugs, moths, cat and dog fleas, mosquitoes, mosquitoes, flies, etc.

The action of the drugs “Fufanon KE”, “Fufanon Nova” is aimed at protecting plants from a number of pests - whitefly , herbivorous mites, aphids , thrips, sawflies, scale insects, false scale insects, mealybugs, codling moths, weevils , leaf rollers, gall midges, moths, etc.

Characteristics of the product

Fufanon is a multifunctional drug in the form of a yellow liquid concentrate. Its active substance remains effective for up to two weeks after spraying.

It has a poisonous effect on insects in a variety of ways:

  1. During contact with the pest.
  2. Once inside the parasite.
  3. Through the respiratory system during crop processing.

The chemical is used to eliminate insects that can destroy plants, fruits of trees, shrubs and vegetables. It reveals properties well when destroyed:

  • Cockroaches.
  • Aphids.
  • Ticks.
  • Weevil.
  • Locusts.
  • Klopov.
  • Komarov.
  • Bloch.

The active particle - malathion, getting inside the insect, suppresses the course of many important processes, which causes disruptions in the transmission of nerve impulses. As a result, the pest becomes paralyzed and then dies.

Features of the drug

Fufanon has the following advantages:

  1. Suitable for processing various agricultural plants.
  2. Effective for sucking and gnawing parasites.
  3. The active particle does not lose its functions when climate conditions change.
  4. Combines with other chemicals.
  5. Copes well with insects that are not susceptible to natural insecticides.

Advantages and disadvantages of the drug

To the advantages

drugs should include the following:

— The drug is applicable to protect most plants;

— Highly effective against a whole range of insect pests (sucking, gnawing insects and herbivorous mites), as well as insects resistant to pyrethroid insecticides.

— Has a fumigant effect with low toxicity.

— The drug works both independently and as a component for tank mixtures, and is well compatible with other insecticides.

— Quick initial action, waiting period – from several hours to 1 day;

— Long-term protective effect – 2-4 weeks;

— Modern formula of DV from a European manufacturer;

— Low cost of the drug

To the disadvantages

should include those that are characteristic in general for pesticides of the FOS group, including:

- It is resistant (just like Karbofos), so it must be alternated when used with drugs of another group;

— It is a mutagen, which requires strict adherence to the instructions for use (dosages and work schedule);

— Highly toxic to fish and bees;

—- Being a fumigant, it has a strong unpleasant odor, which limits its use when processing berry crops

For indoor plants

House flowers are quite often affected by various pests. The insecticide "Fufanon-nova" helps preserve the beauty of ornamental plants. With its help you can carry out complex spraying of the garden. Moreover, this can be done both to prevent and treat diseases. The contents of one standard ampoule must be diluted in five liters of water. After this, the solution is poured into a spray bottle and the entire above-ground part of each indoor plant is carefully treated. It is best to do this in the bathroom, placing all the pots in it at once. After processing, you can return them back to their places.

Application

The pesticide has a wide range of applications, because it affects the body of almost all insects. It is used against garden pests, to get rid of bedbugs and to kill cockroaches. Fufanon is also applicable for indoor plants. A weak solution of the drug is used to treat clothing and premises in case of head lice.

In addition to parasites, it is harmful to beneficial insects that pollinate or eat plants. For this reason, you should not treat plants at the beginning of flowering and in the first month of summer.

To treat plants, fufanon is diluted in the proportion of 6 grams of the drug and a liter of water. If the plants are severely affected, then the concentration may increase, but it is worth remembering that the gardener needs to be careful not to get poisoned himself.

Processing berry bushes

  • A solution of this drug can be sprayed on currants and gooseberries. This is an effective measure against gall midges and aphids, scale insects and sawflies. The drug helps well in the fight against bud moths and leaf rollers. The solution is prepared at the rate of 5 ml per 5 liters of water. The consumption of the drug is one and a half liters per berry bush.
  • The drug “Fufanon-nova” is also used to process raspberries. How to dilute it with water is already indicated above. Consumption – two liters per bush. This is an excellent remedy for weevils, bud moths and ticks.
  • Garden strawberries also suffer from pest attacks. These are mainly whiteflies and spider mites. In this case, 10 ml of the drug is diluted in a bucket of water. Consumption – 5 liters per ten m2. Instructions for use of Fufanon-nova recommend using the insecticide in this way. Many gardeners claim that the result is visible immediately; there is no need to repeat this treatment many times.
  • The grapevine is also protected. This allows you to protect it from damage by spider mites and mealybugs. The proportions are as follows: 10 ml per bucket of warm water. Consumption - three liters per bush.

Do not forget that only high-quality processing can ensure reliable protection of your plants. Therefore, it is necessary to process the entire above-ground part. There is no need to rush; the more thoroughly the procedure is completed, the less chance there is for pests.

Using the drug "Fufanon-nova" against aphids

Perennial shrubs and trees must be protected from insect pests, but it is equally important to provide good conditions for the growth and development of annual fruit plants.

  • Tomatoes need to be processed regardless of whether they grow in open or closed ground. For aphids, whiteflies and spider mites, they need to be treated during the active growing season at the rate of 1-3 liters per 10 m2.
  • The norm for cabbage is a liter of working fluid per 10 m2. This is the optimal dosage, which is recommended in the instructions for use. Many gardeners and gardeners consider Fufanon-nova the best remedy for fighting aphids and bedbugs, flies, moths and cutworms.

Safety precautions when using pesticide

" Fufanon " in terms of toxicity is classified as a class 3 insecticide for humans and bees. Malathion is dangerous for fish and aquatic organisms, so it should not be used in gardens and fields located near water bodies. It is not advisable to spray trees during flowering.

When working, use protective equipment - gloves, goggles and a respirator. Wear long sleeves. After work, wash your hands with soap, and if the product gets into your eyes or skin, rinse them with water.

Fruit trees

To process garden crops, it is advisable to choose a windless and cloudy day. Do not forget to strictly adhere to the timing and dosage. The entire garden is subject to treatment. These are apple trees, pears, quinces, plums, cherries and cherries. All fruit and berry crops must be sprayed regularly to protect them from weevils, scale insects and leaf rollers, codling moths, and cherry flies. This drug has very good reviews. Instructions for use of Fufanon-nova recommend preparing a solution of 5 ml of the drug and five liters of water. Consumption – approximately 2 liters per tree.

In the fight against bedbugs

Bed bugs are the most annoying creatures imaginable. This is associated not only with unpleasant sensations and numerous bites, but also with the possibility of contracting dangerous diseases. Therefore, a person strives to get rid of bloodsuckers as quickly as possible, choosing the most effective drugs. Numerous reviews and instructions for use of Fufanon-Nova claim that the drug is one of the most reliable remedies for bedbugs. Despite the fact that it is intended primarily to combat garden pests, its wide spectrum of action will allow it to effectively deal with blood-sucking parasites.

Properties

It has an acute and residual insecticidal effect against red and black cockroaches, house flies, bed bugs, and rat fleas. The period of residual insecticidal effect is more than two weeks. According to the degree of impact on the body of warm-blooded animals, in accordance with GOST 12.1.007-76, “Fufanon”, when administered into the stomach, belongs to the 3rd class of moderately dangerous drugs. When applied to the skin, class 4 low-hazard drugs. According to the zone of acute biocidal action, it belongs to (2 and 3) classes of highly and moderately dangerous drugs according to the Classification of the degree of danger of drugs. Acute action zone 15, subacute action zone 10. Has a skin-resorptive effect.

Features of use in residential premises

The drug destroys insect colonies almost instantly. It is used by special services for processing industrial basements and attics. "Fufanon-nova" for bedbugs is a liquid substance. The insecticide penetrates the insect's body almost instantly, blocks the activity of the nervous system and causes the death of the insect. The product is safe for warm-blooded creatures.

The big advantage is the prolonged action, which lasts for two weeks. This allows you to destroy an entire colony in one treatment. The hatched larvae will also receive their dose of poison and there will be no change of generations. Reviews about “Fufanon-nova” are very good. The only drawback is the unpleasant smell, but it disappears quickly enough. The main thing is to ventilate the room well afterwards.

Instructions for use

The drug is a light yellow or whitish aqueous emulsion with a characteristic pungent odor of karbofos. Before use, it is necessary to make a working solution of a certain concentration. The latter depends on the type of insects against which the action of the drug will be directed. The emulsion is diluted in 1 liter of clean water based on the following manufacturer’s recommendations:

  • against mosquito larvae – 1.5 ml;
  • against flat bugs (bed bugs), mosquitoes, house cockroaches – 3.5 ml;
  • against adult flies – 9 ml;
  • against cockroaches and fly larvae – 11 ml;
  • against chicken bugs – 15 ml;
  • against American cockroaches – 20 ml.

Before use, it is necessary to prepare the object for future processing. If you plan to treat a living room, then first remove food, used dishes, cages and pet beds from it.

At the second stage, according to the instructions, the solution is prepared, after which it is immediately used, sprayed with a garden sprayer or spray bottle.

After treatment, the room must be ventilated. This must be done for at least 40 minutes. Open surfaces are cleaned of possible contact with Fufanon Super using a soap and soda solution. It is prepared by diluting 35-50 g of soda ash in 1 liter of water.

When and how to properly treat plants in spring and autumn

The use of Fufanon in spring and autumn has certain differences. They should be taken into account, since if these rules are not followed, serious harm will be caused to the crops:

  1. Fufanon solution should be used in early spring, before flowers bloom. It is necessary to process each leaf separately, spraying it thoroughly.

    If the flowering period has already begun, it is better to avoid spraying crops and trees.

  2. In autumn, trees and shrubs are processed after the leaves have completely fallen. And although the instructions indicate that it is allowed to spray on leaves, still, if possible, it is better to postpone it to late autumn.

The ratio of components and the application rate of the drug directly depend on the type of crop. Pros and cons of the insecticide; ease of preparation and use of the solution; affordable cost; durability of the effect; possibility of use both in the open ground and in the greenhouse; high efficiency; wide distribution. The main disadvantage of the drug is the inability to use in eating fruits immediately after processing. To do this, you should wait a certain period of time.

Compatibility and analogues of Fufanon drugs

Fufanon is compatible with most insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, growth regulators, fertilizers and adjuvants used at the same time. It is not recommended to mix Fufanon with copper-containing compounds, alkaline calcium compounds, sulfur-containing preparations and sulfide-based mineral fertilizers, oils and other preparations that have an alkaline reaction.

Before use, it is advisable to test for compatibility.

In tank mixtures it is often used with pyrethroid class insecticides.

Analogs - drugs based on malathion (alone or when used together with other active ingredients). For example, drugs - “Aliot”, “Alatar”, “Antiklesch”, “Benchuk”, “Duplet”, “Karbotsin”, “Karbofos”, “Medilis-malathion”, “Profilaktin”, “Foscon-55”, “Tsipromal” " and etc.

"Fufanon, KE" is not registered for use on private farms after 01/01/2014. As a replacement, we recommend using its complete analogue - the drug "Aliot". Read more about the drug "Aliot".

Principles of use

To use Fufanon in agriculture, a number of rules must be followed:

  1. Spray crops at the first sign of parasites.
  2. On hot days, carry out the procedure either early in the morning or in the evening.
  3. Have time to carry out the treatment two hours before precipitation.
  4. It is good to moisten the plant for greater effectiveness of the product.

Frequent use of the chemical on the same crops causes parasites to become accustomed to it. Therefore, it is necessary to alternate the insecticide with other products. But before use, you need to check their compatibility.

To determine whether the chemicals are compatible, it is worth conducting a test. To do this, mix a small amount of each product in water. If flakes or suspensions form, then they are incompatible.

It is not recommended to use Fufanon with the following drugs:

  • those that contain copper;
  • alkalis containing calcium in the structure;
  • products with sulfur;
  • mineral fertilizers with sulfides;
  • products with an alkaline reaction.

Reviews

Natalya: I was once again convinced that the instructions are not written in vain. I decided to make a stronger solvent and burned the leaves of indoor plants. Don't repeat my mistakes.

Andrey: on the advice of a friend, about three years ago I started treating my fruit trees with Fufanon with Epin Extra in early spring, and since then I have had no problems with pests. Still, prevention is very important!

Dmitry: I grow roses for sale. The task is labor-intensive, primarily due to pests. I worked with different drugs, but it was Fufanon that really helped, which I sprayed the roses with twice in the spring. From then until the end of the season, I did not find a single parasite on the flowers.

Lily: treated indoor flowers with Fufanon against midges and other pests. Action is like action, other drugs helped me, but I liked Fufanon because it does not have an unpleasant odor, from which the apartment needs to be ventilated for hours.

Natalia Petrovna: the drug is inexpensive, but effective. I spray it in the garden, in the vegetable garden, and on indoor flowers before returning them to the house after the summer holidays. An indispensable assistant.

Fans and people who have used the drug

Here are some reviews from various forums about the results of using the product.

“My mother regularly treats indoor flowers with this product, since aphids come from somewhere on them. He takes them out to the balcony and sprays them. After a couple of hours there is no sign of insects.” Tatyana, 31 years old

“My wife and I have a small country house outside the city. Naturally, like other gardeners, we face the problem of pests. We use fufanon. It is cheap and works effectively. I mainly use this poison to fight aphids, but it also helps a lot against the ants that terrorize my garden. I pour the solution directly into their burrows.” Gennady, 64 years old

“We always take fufanon to fight caterpillars on cabbage. For some reason we always have a lot of them. If we had bought other drugs, we would have gone broke long ago. And this one is cheap - about 50 rubles.” Marina, 40 years old

“I live in a small village in an apartment building. There is a neighbor who lives above me and is fond of alcohol. About a year ago, she brought bedbugs to her from somewhere. They crawled towards me through the ventilation. I began to find out what can be used to poison them, and learned about fufanon. I treated the apartment in accordance with the instructions, and the parasites left. It helped. And inexpensive, most importantly.” Nikolay, 28 years old

Fufanon is a cheap and effective drug that will help defeat not only pests in the garden, but also domestic parasitic insects (cockroaches, bedbugs, lice). The result of using this pesticide is visible within 1 - 2 days after treatment, and it remains effective for 3 - 4 weeks. However, when using the product, you should be aware of its toxicity and take precautions.
