Composition and properties of the drug
BlochNet is a transparent, oily, yellowish liquid. The product is used externally. Among the huge number of combined insectoacaricidal preparations, this composition is recognized by experts as one of the most powerful.
There is a strictly defined amount of active substances per 1 ml of the drug:
- 50 mg fipronil;
- 50 mg benzyl benzoate;
- 60 mg diethyltoluamide;
- 1 mg juvemon.
The excipients in the composition are glycerin, dimethyl sulfoxide, isopropyl and benzyl alcohol. Thanks to its enhanced formula, this product works ideally against ixodid ectoparasites, lice and lice, and is suitable for animals of any breed. The repellent effect of the drug (on flying insects) has also been proven in practice.
BlochNet is capable of:
- destroy fleas at any stage of development;
- interrupt the reproduction process of blood-sucking parasites, prevent new infections of the animal;
- destroy lice-eaters, ticks (especially ixodid), lice;
- keep mosquitoes away from the animal.
Important! Using BlochNet significantly reduces the risk of contracting a dangerous disease from ticks.
The simultaneous use of drops and BlochNet spray can create double protection for a cat. This “armor” is especially relevant when animals play in nature. She simply needs to be free-range. You need to carefully spray your pet, which has already been treated with drops, with BlochNet spray before a walk, and not a single parasite will come close to your pet.
Important! Experienced cat owners treat their pets' bedding with flea spray and thereby rid their animals of infection.

Instructions for use | BlochNet insectoacaricidal drops are used to treat the skin and hair of an animal for preventive purposes to protect the animal from attack by ectoparasites in single doses. The treatment is carried out as follows: it is necessary to part the animal’s fur and apply the drug to the skin at several points that are inaccessible for licking (at the base of the skull, between the shoulder blades and along the back). The duration of the protective effect is: against midges in dogs - 5 - 7 days, in cats - 1 - 2 days; against fleas in dogs and cats - 1.5 - 2 months; from other ectoparasites for 1 month. The repeated procedure should be carried out no more than once a month. For the treatment of entomosis in dogs and cats (flea atopic dermatitis, scab), the drug is used according to the indicated dosages. Parasites die within 24 hours after application of the product. In case of otodectosis (ear scabies), before using the drug, the external auditory canal is cleaned of crusts and scabs using a cotton swab moistened with the drug. Then the medicine is instilled into each ear, 3-4 drops and the auricle is folded in half, lightly massaging at the base to distribute the medicine evenly. Treatment is carried out 2 times a day with an interval of 7 - 10 days. In advanced cases of otodectosis, complicated by otitis, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs are prescribed. If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated. The drug is administered into both ears, even in cases of otodectosis affecting only one ear. If an ixodid tick is found on the skin of an animal, apply 1 drop of the drug to the parasite. If after 20 minutes the tick does not fall off spontaneously, it must be removed using tweezers. In order to prevent re-infestation, the animal's bedding should be replaced or treated with an insectoacaricidal spray in accordance with the instructions for use. Side effects may occur in very rare cases, with increased individual sensitivity to the drug, signs of intoxication and allergy may appear (muscle tremors, vomiting, excessive salivation and lacrimation, itching, irritation and redness of the skin). If these signs or other manifestations of intolerance appear, the drug should be immediately washed off with soap and water or shampoo. Contraindications include individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Pregnant and lactating dogs and cats, puppies under 10 weeks of age, kittens under 12 weeks of age, as well as animals with infectious diseases and convalescent animals cannot be treated. |

Indications for use
Any pet needs regular care. However, even the most attentive owners have emergency situations with their pets that require the use of BlochNet.
The drug is indicated when the following occurs in animals:
- Entomosis, which is caused by fleas.
- Damage to the skin and fur after infestation with lice and lice.
- Diseases caused by ticks.
Important! Any of the above problems can be prevented if BlochNet is used as a prophylactic against ectoparasites.
BlochNet spray is extremely popular for ensuring the safety of free-ranging cats. Double protection (drops + spray) is considered even more reliable. It is recognized as the best option for free-ranging animals.
Advantages
According to reviews from cat owners, the drug is indeed a good generic version of fipronil on the domestic market. It is convenient to use and easy to store. The cap on the bottle with drops is tightly screwed on, and the drug is perfectly preserved until the next treatment of the animal.
BlochNet does not irritate your pet’s skin and does not provoke the development of allergies. The cat feels well if the dosage of the drug is not exceeded.
The drug is domestic and is not inferior in quality to most foreign analogues. Due to its very reasonable cost, BlochNet is available for purchase by most pet breeders. You can purchase the product at a pet store or veterinary pharmacy.
Important! The drug should be kept away from food. It is better if it is a plastic container or a first aid kit that is inaccessible to children.
Operating principle
The insectoacaricidal effectiveness of the drug is due to the successful selection of components that enhance the effect of each other. The effect of fipronil ensures blocking of GABA-dependent parasite receptors and disruption of neuromyalgic conduction. This causes paralysis and then death of the insect.
Juvemon is an inhibitor of chitin formation; it prevents the growth and development of parasites.
The presence of benzyl benzoate in the drug maintains and enhances the effect of fipronil: the substance accumulates in the tissues of blood-sucking animals and poisons them. The repellent activity of the product is provided by diethyltoluamide.
After using the drug, ectoparasites die en masse within 24 hours. To prevent re-infestation, the cat’s previous bedding must be destroyed or treated with BlochNet spray.
Table 1. Terms of protection against parasites.
Parasite name | Duration of guaranteed protection |
Fleas | 2 months |
Ixodid and sarcoptoid ticks, lice, lice eaters | 1.5 months |
Mosquitoes | 1 Week |
Important! After treating the bedding, care items, and baseboards, it is necessary to wait 2 hours and provide through ventilation. The litter should be vacuumed thoroughly.
Drops for cats Astrapharm BlochNet Insecto-acaricidal
BlochNet max Insectoacaricidal drops for cats. Advantages:
BlochNet max drops for cats are intended for the therapeutic and preventive treatment of cats of all breeds against insectoacaricidal, ixodid and sarcoptic ticks, lice, lice.
Pharmacological properties
The mechanism of action of fipronil, which is part of the drug, is to block GABA-dependent arthropod receptors, disrupt the transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of ectoparasites. Benzyl benzoate, penetrating through the chitinous cover and accumulating in the body of ticks, has an acaricidal effect on the larvae and adults of parasites.
Juvemon, an analogue of natural juvenile hormones, causes anomalies in the development of insects at the egg and larval stages, preventing the appearance of mature insects on animals and in places where they are kept. Diethyltoluamide has repellent properties, protecting animals from attacks by blood-sucking dipterous insects.
Indications for use:
Recommended for entomosis, otodectosis, ixodid ticks and lice-eaters, and also as a repellent against blood-sucking mosquitoes, flies, and horseflies. Contraindications:
A contraindication for use is the animal’s increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug (including a history of it). The use of BlochNet max is prohibited for patients with infectious diseases and weakened animals, kittens under 12 weeks of age. Auricular use of the drug (in the treatment of ear scabies) in case of perforation of the eardrum is not allowed.
Treatment of pregnant and lactating cats, if necessary, is carried out after consultation with a veterinarian.
Doses and order of application:
BlochNet max is used once by topical (spot-on) application to dry, intact skin in places inaccessible to licking by animals - in the neck area at the base of the skull in the following doses:
- Up to 5 kg (inclusive) – 15 drops (1/2 bottle)
- Over 5 kg – 1 bottle (30 drops)
- To treat otodectosis, the drug is instilled into each ear, 4-6 drops. Treatment is carried out twice with an interval of 5-7 days.
To thoroughly distribute the drops, fold the auricle in half and massage lightly.
After 5-7 days, repeat the treatment. If a tick is found on a cat's body, it must be destroyed. To do this, the drug in the amount of 1 drop is applied to the tick at the site of its attachment to the skin. If the tick does not fall off spontaneously within 20 minutes, it is carefully pulled out of the skin with tweezers and destroyed.
The death of fleas, lice, and lice is observed within 24 hours after treatment of the animal; The protective effect of the drug after a single treatment of the animal against fleas lasts up to 2 months, against ixodid and sarcoptoid ticks, lice and lice - up to 1 month, against blood-sucking mosquitoes - up to 7 days.
Repeated treatments of animals are carried out according to indications, but not more than once a month. In order to prevent re-infestation by fleas, the animals' bedding is replaced or treated with BlochNet spray in accordance with the instructions for its use. Storage:
Store in a dry place, protected from light and sunlight, separate from food and feed, out of reach of children and animals, at a temperature from 0°C to 25°C.
Shelf life: 2 years.
For the comprehensive destruction of fleas, ixodid ticks, roundworms (including microfilariae) and tapeworms, animals are treated once in the doses indicated in the table. | |
Cat's mass | Drug dose |
from 1 to 5 kg | 0.5 ml (18 drops) |
more than 4 kg | 1.0 ml |
To destroy ixodid ticks on the body of an animal, 1 drop of the drug is applied to the tick and the place of its attachment to the skin. If the tick does not fall off spontaneously within 20-30 minutes, it is carefully pulled out of the body with tweezers and destroyed. |
Instructions for use
BlochNet can be used no more than once in 30 days. Repeated treatment is permissible, but only on the recommendation of a doctor.
BlochNet comes with instructions for planning how to use the product. The drug is applied to clean, undamaged skin, not damp. Areas to be treated with drops: base of the skull, withers. The animal does not have the ability to reach these areas of the body with its tongue.
The spray is sprayed along the line of the cat's back, against the pile, but do not bring the can closer than 30 cm to the animal's body. Do not spray on the face; the areas near the eyes and around the nose of the animal are lightly rubbed with fingers (wearing gloves).
Important! When spraying a cat's ears, her eyes and nose must be covered with a cloth.
The greatest difficulties for owners of domestic cats arise when ridding animals of attached ticks. It is enough to apply 1 drop of BlochNet to the parasite, and it will fall off the victim in 15–20 minutes. If this does not happen, you will have to use tweezers and pull the tick out of the skin. After this, the parasite must be destroyed.
If the cat weighs less than 5 kg, 15 drops of the product are sufficient for a one-time treatment. For heavier individuals, at least 26–30 drops (1 ml) of BlochNet should be used.
Important! The cat is not bathed for 2 days after treatment.
Mode of application
Before applying the drops, you must carefully read the instructions for use.
To combat all types of blood-sucking insects, treat the skin with the product, avoiding its contact with the fur. The area where the drops are applied should be inaccessible to animals for licking. Most often, the product is applied to the neck and back, as well as to the withers (for cats).
The dosage is calculated in accordance with the instructions for use, based on the weight of the pet. Re-processing is carried out as directed by a specialist. The drug should not be used more than once every 4-6 weeks.
To avoid re-infection with blood-sucking pets, it is necessary to purchase new bedding or treat it with a disinfectant.
To remove an embedded tick from the skin of a pet, the product is dripped onto the bite site and wait until the parasite falls off.
In case of ear scabies, the ears of animals are cleaned of dirt with a cotton swab dipped in the preparation. And then 3 drops of medicine are instilled into each ear.
Apply drops twice for 5-8 days.
Contraindications and possible side effects
The drug should not be used for animals that have been diagnosed with hypersensitivity to one or more components of the drug. To avoid serious consequences, the doctor conducts a special test for each cat.
If the animal is completely healthy, but it is planned to use BlochNet for the first time, the veterinarian will prescribe reduced doses of the drug. Kittens under three months of age should not be exposed to this composition.
Veterinarians do not recommend using BlochNet for cats that are weakened:
- current infectious disease;
- previous surgery (the product can only be used 21–25 days after removal of the sutures);
- hypersensitivity to drugs.
Important! Before treating a pregnant or lactating cat with BlochNet, you must obtain the consent of a doctor.
Particular attention should be paid to maintaining the dosage of the product. An increased amount of the drug can lead to unpleasant consequences: the animal will become lethargic, apathetic, salivation will increase, vomiting, and muscle tremors may occur. If such symptoms occur, the product should be immediately removed from the skin with water.
It is acceptable to use soap or light shampoo. The veterinarian prescribes medications to restore the pet to its normal physical condition.
