Fitoverm: clear and simple instructions for use

When a summer resident is faced with a pest invasion in the middle of summer, he is faced with a dilemma. Small dirty tricks can be easily and quickly removed with chemicals, but they pose a threat to the environment and human health. So how can you save the harvest?
In this situation, Fitoverm always helps me out, which is characterized by minimal toxicity and instantly decomposes in the natural environment.

The only instructions for using Fitoverm do not provide a complete understanding of all the nuances of its effective use. I’ll tell you in the article how and when to use fitoverm.

Biological pest control product Fitoverm

Fitoverm is a biological preparation that destroys an impressive proportion of garden and garden pests.

It is used on all types of open and protected ground crops, including indoor plants.

Fitoverm belongs to the group of insectoacaricides, that is, the product is effective against both leaf-eating insects and mites:

  • Colorado potato beetle;
  • sawfly;
  • codling moths;
  • moths;
  • all types of aphids;
  • gall mite;
  • herbivorous mites;
  • scale insects;
  • leaf rollers;
  • whiteflies;
  • thrips;
  • mealbugs;
  • caterpillars;
  • cutworm and other pest butterflies;
  • moles.
  • and so on.

In total, it protects green spaces from 20 types of dangerous harmful insects and ticks.

The drug is produced by LLC NBC "Pharmbiomed" in vessels of different volumes - in ampoules from 2 to 100 milliliters for private use; in bottles of 200, 400 milliliters and canisters of 1-5 liters for farms. The active agent of Fitoverm is Avermectin S, standard dosage 2 g/l.

Usually the name of the pesticide is accompanied by the abbreviation EC. It stands for "concentrated emulsion".

There are several subspecies on sale:

  1. Fitoverm M has acaricidal and insecticidal properties and works equally well in an open garden bed and in a greenhouse.
  2. Fitoverm Forte contains more active substance (10 g/l), which allows you to effectively eradicate ticks.
  3. Fitoverm P is produced in powder form and is intended to combat nematodes.

If the area is large, I advise you to buy the drug in a large package. This makes it more economical.

Features of Fitoverm treatment of some indoor plants

When processing indoor flowers, you need to consider several points. If pests are found on one plant, it is necessary to inspect all the flowers in the house to avoid the risk of secondary infection. Tips for processing indoor flowers:

  1. Spraying with chemicals should be carried out 3-4 times every 7 days. The air temperature should not be lower than 25 ˚C. If the temperature is higher, then treatment should be carried out every 5 days. Treatment will be ineffective at temperatures of 18 °C and below.
  2. After spraying with a spray bottle, there is no need to put a plastic bag on the plant (orchids are an exception). It is much more important to re-spray on schedule.
  3. A single treatment gives only a temporary effect: flower treatment must be systematic.

Tip! Plants need to be sprayed when they are dry. It is better to carry out the procedure during the day. Due to the fact that Fitoverm is a hazard class 3 drug, it is better to carry out the treatment on the balcony or in the fresh air. If you have to spray flowers indoors, the room must be thoroughly ventilated at the end of the procedure. To enhance the effect of Fitoverm, you can add potassium soap to the solution.

Ficus

Reddish-brown and dirty yellow spots often form on ficus leaves. These are traces of scale insect activity.

The greenery of the plant is wiped with a soft cloth soaked in bioinsecticide. It is useful to alternate treatments with Fitoverm with spraying with tobacco infusion.

Don't forget to generously spray the soil around the plant. In total, 2-3 treatments are done with an interval of 1.5-2 weeks.

"Fitoverm" for orchids

An emulsion containing potent poisons is unlikely to be the optimal solution if orchid flowers are infected (mostly thrips live in plant inflorescences). But in the case when the stems and petals are damaged, for example, from mites (and this is fraught with other plant diseases), you cannot do without the use of phytoverm. Be extremely careful, the orchid treatment procedure must be performed strictly in stages:

  • First of all, you need to remove the flower from the pot, and then thoroughly disinfect the container itself. If possible, use a new pot altogether, so you will be sure that re-infection due to the parasites remaining in it will not occur;
  • the root system is completely cleared of the substrate, after which it is carefully soaked in a container with diluted fitoverm at the rate of 1 g per 1 liter;

  • When the processing is completed, the flower must be laid out in a wide container so that sunlight falls on it. To begin, cover the roots of the orchid with a plastic bag, and after a day, it can be removed. While the plant is still deprived of substrate, so moisten the roots daily;
  • after 10 days the procedure is duplicated, but after this the flower is immediately planted back into the pot.

You will need to treat the orchid for plant mites two more times, but you should not apply the drug to the leaves; it is better to immediately add it to the soil.

"Fitoverm" for violets

As for the treatment of violet parasites, the procedure here is not so long, and besides, the break between treatment periods is about 3 days. How to properly dilute the drug? You will need 1 ampoule of the product for 1 liter of water. Experts recommend adding a few drops of regular animal shampoo to the diluted composition: it contains permethrin, and this component will only enhance the effect of treating plants. The procedure itself is similar to the method of eliminating parasites on orchids - four treatments a day with a break.

Why can’t you achieve the desired result after a single application? The thing is that the medicinal composition is intended to remove adult parasites, and not their eggs or larvae. Therefore, in the few days between treatment stages, new insects will appear, which will soon be destroyed. Thus, repeated extermination of pests is necessary for the full effect.

Lily

The crop is susceptible to infection by thrips, mites, whiteflies and aphids.

Lily leaves are wiped with a solution of the drug on both sides. This causes death in gnawing insects after 6-8 hours, in sucking species - after 1-2 days.

The last treatment is performed after three weeks.

Rose

Spider mites are most often found on roses. Treatment against the pest should be carried out in the fresh air, spraying the leaves on both sides with a sprayer. If some of the solution remains, it can be used to moisten the top layer of soil. Use a sponge soaked in a chemical solution to treat the window sill on which the rose pot stands.

Rose treatment

The parasites die after a few hours. To completely get rid of them, 3-4 treatments of the rose with breaks a week are enough. The average dosage of Fitoverm for roses is 2.5 ml per 1.25 liters of water.

Composition and principle of action of Fitoverm

Avermectins, on the basis of which Fitoverm is created, are produced by a special bacterium Streptomyces avermitilis and are classified as neurotoxic poisons.

They have a paralyzing effect on arthropods, due to which they lose the ability to feed and die of starvation.

The substance enters the pest’s body in two ways:

  • contact, that is, through loose soft covers;
  • intestinal, that is, together with poisoned food.

After spraying, pests stop damaging leaves after 6-16 hours. Death occurs 2-3 days after treatment, complete extermination occurs by 5-7 days.

The period of protective action of the drug ranges from 7 to 20 days. Light rain and heavy dew reduce this period to a minimum of 5-7 days.

Storage conditions and precautions

According to the manufacturers, Fitoverm’s hazard class is 3, that is, moderately dangerous drugs. This means that you need to work with it using protective equipment - rubber gloves and a mask, glasses, and wear thick clothing that covers exposed parts of the body. The product is not phytotoxic and not toxic to animals.

Fitoverm should be diluted for treatment on the same day, using up all the liquid if possible. Pour out the rest. Opening hours: evening or morning, on a quiet, windless, clear day. Air temperature - from 10 to 25°C. During work, eating is prohibited, smoking and drinking are prohibited.

Store the drug only in closed original packaging at temperatures from -20°C to 30°C. The place where the drug is located should be dark and dry. Children and animals should not have access to it. The shelf life of Fitoverm is 2 years from the date of production.

Pros and cons of Fitoverm

Fitoverm is a fourth generation pest control product , the main advantage of which is its minimal harmful effect on the soil, flora and beneficial fauna of the site.

Among the advantages of the drug we can also highlight:

  • High efficiency and a long list of pests destroyed.
  • Versatility. Suitable for use on all plants in the garden, garden and home; it does not inhibit their development.
  • Dual mechanism of action - through the skin and intestines of insects.
  • The long period of plant protection - up to 20 days - allows you to get by with only 2-3 treatments per season.
  • Complete safety for plants.
  • Rapid deactivation - the crop is safe to harvest within 48 hours after treatment, does not accumulate in either fruits or foliage.
  • Convenient packaging. You can choose the volume of the drug that is needed for your purposes.
  • No addiction. The effectiveness of the pesticide does not decrease over 5-6 seasons of consistent use.
  • Good compatibility with most drugs on the market.
  • It is especially effective in hot weather, unlike most chemical products.

Despite all these advantages, Fitoverm does not solve all pest problems due to some disadvantages:

  1. Photoinstability, that is, the drug instantly decomposes in light.
  2. Instability on leaves. The solution adheres weakly to plants and is quickly washed away by precipitation and dew. Therefore, it is recommended to add soap or store-bought adhesives to the liquid.
  3. Selectivity in action. Pest larvae and eggs do not take part in feeding, so some of them survive treatment. Ticks also often hide in the veins of leaves, so many individuals manage to avoid contact with the poison.
  4. Expensive. Especially in comparison with similar drugs based on nuclear chemistry.
  5. Unpleasant (although not strong) odor.
  6. Toxicity to bees and other pollinators.
  7. Cannot be applied to the soil.
  8. The working solution is not stored for longer than one day.

Description

Insecticidal and acaricidal agent. It can be used to treat plants that are grown in open ground and in greenhouses. Release form: suspension concentrate, ampoules of 2 ml and 5 ml, as well as bottles of 400 ml of the active substance. In large-scale agricultural production, five-liter canisters of pesticide are used.

The active substances in the composition are extracts from poisonous mushrooms - avermectins. These are toxins that act directly on the tissues of the pest’s central nervous system, causing paralysis and death of the insect.

It has an equally effective effect on adults and their larvae. The active component is a contact poison; its action occurs after the pest has absorbed the succulent green mass. It also penetrates much faster through the epidermis of the insect, quickly spreading through the bloodstream throughout its body, causing paralysis, convulsions and death of the parasite.

The effect of the drug begins within two days after it enters the body. Death does not occur immediately, but two to three days after treatment. If you need to get rid of an infestation of parasites as quickly as possible, it is recommended to choose another insecticide that acts quickly.

Experts recommend treating with phytoverm in hot weather. This is how the active substances begin to act faster and stronger. Under the influence of direct sunlight, rapid destruction of avermectins begins.

Rain also has a negative effect, so there is no need to carry out treatment in rainy weather. The toxicity of the product to bees is low. If treatment occurs in the evening, after a day the plants are safe for beneficial insects.

After penetration into the body of insects, it retains its effect for two weeks. Even if the pest does not die, it becomes less voracious and stops reproducing. There is a danger of addiction to the drug. But only if processed too often. Therefore, it is recommended to alternate insecticides for treating plantings. Active components do not accumulate in plant tissues.

Precautions when working with the drug

Fitoverm is assigned hazard class 3, that is, it poses a moderate danger to people and animals. If concentrated vapors are inhaled, it can cause a severe allergy attack, and if ingested, it can cause mild poisoning.

When it gets into the soil, it quickly loses activity and does not cause much damage. But do not allow the solution to leak into water bodies, as it is fatal to fish.

If you dropped the concentrate onto the ground, sprinkle the area with sawdust, peat or sand and pour it with a 5% solution of soda (or any other alkali).

When working with the drug, you should use a full set of protective equipment: gloves, glasses, a scarf for the nose and mouth. After applying the insecticide, wash your hands and face with water and soap, and rinse your mouth thoroughly.

Do not eat, drink or smoke while spraying. The drug packaging is placed in a separate bag and then disposed of in the trash.

If poison accidentally ends up in the stomach, you should immediately drink 3-4 glasses of clean water and activated carbon at the rate of 1 tablet per 10 kilograms of weight. Then you should induce vomiting. If it gets into the eyes, wash them with warm water, trying not to close the eyelids.

If you continue to feel unwell, weakness, or nausea, you should immediately contact the hospital for professional help.

The biological product poses a threat to bees, so it is used with caution during the budding and flowering phase. But if you do the treatments in the evening, within 8-10 hours the solution is partially neutralized and is no longer so dangerous for striped workers.

Precautionary measures

Fitoverm is a substance of hazard class III. To work with the drug, standard protective measures are required.

Hair is hidden under a headscarf or other headdress. Wear:

  • clothing and shoes that protect exposed areas of the body;
  • respirator;
  • waterproof gloves;
  • glasses to protect the mucous membrane of the eyes.

It is strictly not recommended to eat, smoke or drink while working with the drug. If your general health has worsened or you have started to feel sick, you need to drink activated charcoal, plenty of water, and wash your face. If possible, induce vomiting. Be sure to consult a doctor.

Fitoverm: detailed instructions for use

When to treat plants with Fitoverm

I advise you to resort to the help of Fitoverm only when there is a massive appearance of pests. Still, by interfering in such a crude way with the ecosystem, we upset its balance. As a result, if you use insecticides at the slightest threat to the crop, next season you may face a doubling or tripling of the number of pests.

For mild infestations, collect insects by hand or wash them off the plants with strong water pressure.

The drug does not provide prevention, so it is useless to treat plants with it in advance.

Moisture and sunlight accelerate the inactivation of the solution, so it is better to carry out work in the pre-sunset hours in dry and windless weather. And check the weather forecast so that even light rain is not expected in the next 3-5 days. If a little water gets on the leaves, the protection period will be shortened from three weeks to 5-7 days.

If you urgently need to save the plants, but precipitation is expected the next day, use the drug together with adhesives - for example, Agrolip, Tandem, Atomic, Liposam, Trend 90. When to apply the adhesive - before, after or together with the pesticide - is usually indicated on its packaging.

Unlike other insecticides, the effectiveness of Fitoverm only increases with rising temperatures. When it jumps from 20 to 30 degrees, the drug begins to work 8 times better! This is an invaluable quality for areas with hot climates.

The lower temperature threshold is +10...12 degrees, but I recommend waiting until the temperature rises to at least +15 degrees.

To achieve total extermination of small invaders, perform 2-3 treatments with an interval of 3-7 days , depending on weather conditions and the type of pest.

How to dilute Fitoverm for spraying

Fitoverm does not react with plastic and metal, so it can be diluted in any convenient container (except for food, of course).

To prevent the drug from separating in water, I advise preparing the solution in several steps.

  1. Determine the required amount of solution based on the type of crop and the area of the bed. The table below will help you with this.
  2. Open the ampoule, measure the concentrate with a dispenser or small syringe, pour it into 100 milliliters of water and stir thoroughly.
  3. Add another 900 milliliters of water and mix.
  4. Bring the solution to the desired strength and pour it into a garden sprayer or spray bottle.

Fitoverm is compatible with growth regulators (Epin Extra, Zircon, Immunocytophyte, Cytovit), pyrethroids, fungicides, fertilizers and organophosphorus insecticides.

The instructions indicate that the product cannot be used simultaneously with chemical insecticides and alkaline substances.

How to dilute Fitoverm and method of application

Initially, the solution is prepared in a small amount of water. While stirring the product, you need to add liquid to the required volume, which varies depending on the disease and the type of plant. It is necessary to prepare the solution only if it will be used on the same day.

Dilution of the solution

You cannot prepare a solution from Fitoverm and other chemicals, but it is permissible to mix it with biostimulants. Before using the resulting solution, you should check the compatibility of the mixed drugs: if a precipitate appears in the solution, the drugs are incompatible. Flower processing can be done using a manual or mechanical sprayer.

Thrips

Thrips are the most common pests of ornamental crops. To combat them, you need to dissolve 2 ml of the drug in 200 ml of water. The flower needs to be sprayed with a spray bottle. You can also wipe the leaves of the plant with a sponge soaked in the solution.

The frequency of treatments depends on the size, age of the flower and the number of parasites on it. On average, 4 sprays will be enough to get rid of insects. The treatment interval is 5-8 days. The drug begins to act after 3-5 days. After the last spraying, the flower can be treated with the strengthening agent Epin.

Spider mite

To remove spider mites with Fitoverm, you will need to dissolve the ampoule in a liter of water. The maximum number of plant treatments is 4.

The procedure must be repeated after a week or 10 days. Orchid and ficus leaves should be wiped with a cotton swab dipped in a solution; other house plants can be sprayed with a spray bottle.

Aphid

Aphids most often infest indoor roses. To remove insects, two capsules of the product (8 ml) diluted in 1 liter of liquid are enough.

A solution of this concentration is suitable for all domestic plants on which aphids have appeared. Insects die after 2-3 days. It is required to carry out 2-3 procedures at intervals of a week.

Whitefly

To kill flying insects, the volume of liquid and chemical must be increased. Therefore, a whitefly solution must be prepared from 1.5 liters of water and 6 ml of insecticide. To remove the insect, two sprays are enough. The interval between procedures is a week. The effect of the drug is noticeable after three days.

How to properly treat plants with Fitoverm

Fitoverm solution is applied to the leaves using a fine spray.

Remember that adults and their offspring often hide under leaves. Therefore, when working, direct the stream of water from top to bottom to reach all the pests.

The more you moisten the foliage, the greater the effect of your actions.

Read about the features of using Fitoverm for cucumbers in this article.

Description of the drug Fitoverm

Fitoverm is a broad-spectrum drug of biological origin. It was created based on the waste products of soil microorganisms. Approved for use both on open ground plants and indoor plants.

The effectiveness and safety of the drug was tested by the All-Russian Research Institute of Plant Protection in St. Petersburg, and it received high marks from researchers. Observations of effectiveness in the field showed that it reduced the number of leaf-eating pests of apple and black currant trees by 94-100%. Mites on apple and black currant trees have decreased by 96-100%. There was also 100% death of bud weevils and 75-85% suppression of the development of apple aphids and currant aphids.

Application of "Fitoverm" twice on currants - immediately after flowering and two weeks before the berries begin to ripen - completely prevented the harmfulness of four-legged leaf mites and leaf rollers, and eliminated currant aphids by 86%.

The drug is safe for the environment and quickly breaks down in water and soil. The crop can be harvested and consumed within three days after treatment.

This is such a strong and useful drug, an indispensable assistant in the fight against all kinds of insects.

Features of the drug Fitoverm

  • decomposes after 24 hours after use
  • processing is allowed during fruit ripening
  • safe for humans and animals
  • pests do not get used to the drug
  • Repeated treatments are required to achieve the effect.
  • cannot be mixed with other drugs

What pests does Fitoverm help with?

  • Colorado potato beetles
  • cabbage scoop
  • whites
  • sawflies
  • aphids
  • codling moths
  • leafrollers
  • moths
  • spider mites
  • thrips
  • caterpillars

It copes well with pests that most often attack indoor plants: thrips, spider mites, aphids. So that we know who we are dealing with (after all, the dosage of the drug depends on this), let’s look at the photo of flower parasites.

Trips

A small black insect with an elongated body no more than 2 mm in length. Affects most smooth-leaved indoor plants. Clearly visible to the eye. Affected leaves have a rough surface and distinct eaten away spots.

Trips

Spider mite

It has a reddish or brown color, size no more than 0.5 mm. It is difficult to distinguish visually, but leaves obvious traces of its presence - a cobweb or whitish “dust” on the leaves. A plant affected by spider mites begins to wither, curl its leaves, lose tone, and turn yellow. Spider mites prefer roses, chrysanthemums, poinsettias, gardenias and other plants.

Spider mite

Aphid

A common pest that attacks roses, orchids, not only home plants, but also garden plants. It has a green body about 2 mm long, multiplies quickly, forming clearly visible colonies that cover the entire plant.

Aphid

In any case, even if you do not recognize among them the pest that is attacking your plants, but you see leaves that are damaged, eaten in places, stained, then you should use Fitoverm. Insects are not always noticeable, but they do their dirty work, so the plant must be saved.

Shelf life and storage

The insecticide is stored in a dry and dark place where animals and children cannot reach it. It retains its properties in the temperature range from -15 to +30 degrees for 2 years from the date of manufacture.

The remaining product from the opened ampoule is poured into a clean medicine bottle or syringe and used within a month.

Fitoverm working solution is used on the day of preparation; it is not stored at all. It is poured into a sink or into the soil where animals do not walk and crops do not grow. You can also irrigate the soil in pots with home flowers with the solution if you notice signs of aphids or other pests on them.

Safety precautions when using Fitoverm

Spraying of plants is carried out in special equipment. Use gloves, safety glasses and a mask (if necessary), closed clothing. Smoking and eating are prohibited during the procedure. At the end of the procedure, you should wash your hands and face with laundry soap. It is advisable to spray while wearing a protective mask, or to be at some distance from the jet.

Important! If the drug gets into the eyes, onto the mucous membrane of the nose or mouth, or open wounds, they must be rinsed with plenty of water.

If the drug penetrates the gastrointestinal tract, you should drink several tablets of activated carbon, and if possible, induce vomiting. It is recommended to be examined by a doctor.

The drug is stored in places inaccessible to children and pets, away from food and medicines. Storage temperature – from -15 to 30○C, shelf life 2 years in closed packaging. The remaining solution after the procedure must be disposed of and not stored under any circumstances.

Fitoverm against whitefly. How to deal with whitefly on indoor plants?

It is difficult to get rid of insects; only adult individuals can be destroyed with insecticides, and, as a rule, pests are present at different stages of development.

The larvae are very firmly attached to the leaves, and it is not possible to wash them off with any solution, and the susceptibility to the action of chemicals is very low.

  • Therefore, the best time to treat indoor plants with any means is when an adult has just formed.

An adult insect begins to actively feed and mate, and at this moment it is most sensitive to the effects of folk remedies or drugs.

It is also difficult to fight the pest on indoor flowers because during spraying, adult individuals often begin to fly and hide.

COMBAT MEASURES

  1. If you find an insect, place the flower separately from other pets and inspect the entire collection. Wash the place where the specimen was located (window sill, window, outer sides of pots) with a soap-alcohol solution.
  2. Replace the top layer of soil in the flower pot.
  3. Before treating with the drug, wipe the leaves of the plant from white plaque with a cotton swab (soft toothbrush) with a solution of water and methyl alcohol (1:1) or soap solution, and cut off seriously damaged areas.
  4. Rinse off the solution and leave it to dry. After the water has evaporated from the leaves, spray the flower, the top layer of soil, and water the soil with a systemic insecticide.
  5. Ventilate the room well to remove traces of the chemical.

ADVIСE. Types of plants whose leaves cannot be washed must be sprayed, preferably with chemicals.

Treating all indoor flowers increases the chances of getting rid of whiteflies, as does washing the windowsill, pots and glass.

In addition to treatments with folk remedies or chemicals, you need to inspect your home flower daily, collect whitefly eggs and catch adults. Trim affected and yellowed leaves on home flowers in a timely manner.

It sometimes takes 40-50 days to treat home plants with whitefly repellents to completely get rid of them.

The best means to combat the Colorado potato beetle
. Important!

The product is dangerous for bees, therefore, during the flowering period of plants, treatment with Fitoferm cannot be carried out.

Spraying of vegetable and fruit crops with Fitoverm should be carried out in a dry, windless time (preferably before 10 am or after 18 pm).

Leaf blades are sprayed on both sides. The best temperature when spraying is +14+20 degrees Celsius. Treatment cannot be carried out against the wind. The drug begins to act after part of the day in greenhouse conditions, and in garden beds – from 1/3 to a day.

What pests does Fitoverm help with?

The range of effects on insects is very wide.

It includes the following pests:

  • whitefly;

  • moth;

  • sawfly;

  • thrips;

  • leaf roller;

  • aphid;

  • Colorado potato beetle;

  • and others.

Important!

Fitoverm is powerless against insects that do not feed. These are larvae, pupae. To eliminate them, it is necessary to increase the temperature in the room artificially. This will make development processes faster.

Fitoverm - analogues of the drug

There is a replacement for the insecticide. There are approximately 10 different names. Here you can find drugs from both domestic and foreign manufacturers.

Popular analogues of Fitoverm:

Advantages and disadvantages of Fitoverm

Each product has both “pros” and “cons”. Fitoverm is no exception here.

Advantages:

  1. Absolutely environmentally friendly product. Decomposition of the active substance in the soil occurs after 25–30 hours. On the surface of the leaf plates, decomposition occurs after 2–3 days.
  2. Convenient release form in different volumes, which allows you to choose the dosage that is required in each specific case. The composition contains only natural substances, which ensures the safety of using the product.
  3. Possibility of use during fruit formation, as well as combination with other drugs, except those of chemical origin. Combines well with growth stimulants.

Flaws:

  1. To achieve the desired effect, several treatments are usually necessary. Mostly from 3 to 4.
  2. The solution practically does not adhere to the surface of the plants, and therefore it is necessary to additionally use a soap solution, which will increase the stickiness.
  3. Fitoverm should not be used during the flowering period, as it is toxic to bees.
  4. The effectiveness of the insecticide is influenced by precipitation and lower temperatures.
  5. High cost and specific smell.

In general, the advantages are more significant, and therefore the drug continues to be in demand among many gardeners. After all, we are talking about insecticides.

Fitoverm instructions for use, how to dilute and use - video

Mechanism of action and active substance

Since Fitoverm is a biological product, its active ingredient is made from the metaplasm of fungi living in the soil. Mushrooms belong to the genus Streptomyces. A substance called aversectin C is isolated from the metaplasm, which is the basis of the biological product.

When animals devour the leaves and shoots of a plant irrigated with a biological product, aversectin C enters the gastrointestinal tract of the pests and, penetrating through it into the cell tissue, begins to act after 12 hours. A paralyzed pest cannot move and, accordingly, cannot feed. As a result of exhaustion, the insect dies 72 hours after the product begins to act.

Treatment of indoor and other plants with Fitoverm against sucking insects and acarids has a somewhat slower effect, so the pests die no earlier than after 5-7 days.

Due to the fact that the effect of the product occurs through the stomach, the larvae do not die. To completely destroy all insects, at least three to four treatments will be required.

Did you know? Decomposition of an insecticide that gets into the soil occurs within 24 hours; in open space it disintegrates after two days. The decay period of other products is about a month.

Reviews

Maria: the drug is relatively safe, does not overwhelm you with the smell, but requires several treatments. I used it on roses and was pleased.

Marina: I was captivated by the fact that Fitoverm is of biological origin. In addition, it has an affordable price, it dissolves well in water and does not smell very much (sorry). I also liked the fact that the ampoules are not glass (I usually cut my hands with them), but plastic. Well, I liked the effect: not lightning fast, but reliable.

Agasha: This is not the first time I have encountered spider mites on indoor plants, so I know a lot about preparations. I bought Fitoverm because it is relatively safe for the environment. I had to spray the plants twice, but I didn’t expect quick results: I also treated them with Actellik twice. The second treatment is a control shot. I heard people complain about the smell of Fitoverm. People, you probably haven’t snorted any other drugs!

Sergey: this drug is relatively harmless to the environment, therefore, probably, its effectiveness in the fight against parasites is very relative. I treated currants against aphids with Fitoverm, but the result was more than modest. I had to use the proven Kinmiks. Maybe I was in a hurry and should have waited...

Anatoly: I used Fitoverm against spider mites on cucumbers in a greenhouse. After processing, I closed the greenhouse and entered it only the next morning. The cucumber leaves, which were withered, perked up slightly, and after two days their turgor was completely restored. Just in case, I re-processed it. Since then the ticks have not appeared.
